My journey into the legal world began during my high school years. I had an inspirational teacher who supported me through what I now understand to be a family law-related assignment, which ignited my passion for family law. I was lucky to attend Bond University for my studies. I was also fortunate to be accepted as part of a program through Bond University to gain experience with one of the top family law firms on the Gold Coast at the time, where I ended up working for the next 10 years of my career (funnily enough with the current directors at BGM Family Lawyers).

I also led the family law department at a multidisciplinary firm for several years. Family law has always been my passion—I haven’t looked back since, and I truly love supporting my clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions.

I appreciate that for many clients, taking the first step to see a lawyer can be difficult. They’re often nervous and unsure about what to expect. I work hard to ensure my clients feel comfortable and confident throughout what can be an emotional and confusing journey.

I have broad experience working with clients in a range of family law cases, including property settlements and parenting cases, both using alternate dispute resolution and in court, should that become necessary.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my family and my Cavoodle, Charlotte. My partner and I have 4 children together, so life is busy, but rewarding. I feel that I can relate to clients on a personal level, having gone through a divorce of my own, and taking steps to blend a family (which absolutely has its own challenges). This has helped me to properly understand the practical side of what we do.

My practice of family law is guided by the principle “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”

I am a committee member for the Gold Coast District Law Association, was featured in the Doyles Guide as recommended in the leading divorce Lawyer on the Gold Coast category in 2024, and a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards Regional/Suburban Lawyer of the Year in 2024.
