I was drawn to family law because I wanted to do work that genuinely mattered to people, particularly at moments when their lives were changing in ways they may not have anticipated. The matters I work on aren't abstract; they touch someone's home, their children, their sense of what comes next. Clients usually come to me at a point of real uncertainty and I take that seriously. I want them to leave a conversation with me feeling like someone actually listened, that their options are clear and that there's a path forward they can trust.
I started in the legal industry in 2017 and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2019. Since then, I've worked exclusively in family law on the Gold Coast, first within the family law team of a multidisciplinary firm and later at a specialist family law firm. Along the way, I've had the privilege of learning directly from several Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialists in Family Law.
My experience extends across the full breadth of family law, including property settlements, parenting matters, divorce, child support, spousal maintenance, financial agreements and domestic violence. While I enjoy that variety, I'm particularly drawn to complex matters, the kind that reward careful analysis, forward planning and a clear strategy.
I approach every client without judgement and with genuine care for what they're navigating. My advice is calm, clear, thorough and practical, but always strategic. Behind every family law matter is an emotional reality and I believe good legal advice has to account for both the legal issues and the person living through them.
My aim is to ensure that clients feel heard and are equipped to face their matter with a clear head and confidence in the path ahead. I'm proactive, not reactive, realistic about what lies ahead and focused on protecting my clients' interests while helping them get to the other side as quickly as the matter allows.
Outside the office, life looks a little different. My husband and I love to travel, though I'll happily admit half the fun is in the planning. You'll also find me taking our dog to the beach, testing out increasingly ambitious recipes in the kitchen or hunting down good Italian food. I get back to Tasmania (where I'm from) as often as I can to see family and I rarely miss my daily 4:45 am F45 class.
